Project 4.0 . Illustrate
Depth, Texture, and Meaning in the Measured Drawing
Project 4.0, Illustrate, provides you with an opportunity to explore raster collage and painting tools using Adobe Photoshop. These tools will allow you to express materiality, texture, and depth with a varied and nuanced toolset.
You will prepare your AutoCAD base plans and elevations for rendering in Adobe Photoshop by printing a series of PDF files from AutoCAD and rasterizing them in Photoshop (discussed in class). The illustrations will use either an analagous or monochromatic color scheme (excluding black and white). This will require good use of shading, texture, and transparency to allow the illustration to read well.
Critical to the successful completion of this project are:
- scaled linework in Adobe Photoshop from an AutoCAD site plan
- accurately and aesthetically intriguing representation of ideas
- clear and concise representation of materials
- innovative relationship between linework, texture, and symbols
- consistent, clearly organized layouts
Your work will be evaluated on the craftsmanship, innovation, and accuracy of the finished product.
