One limitation that occurs when creating interactive worlds in the source engine is that the worlds must be sealed in order to properly compile in order to avoid leaks. It is possible to create the illusion of a larger world using skyboxes and environment lighting. You can also create freeform surfaces such as terrain using displacement tools.

You will add an environment to your world in order to ground your site in a larger context. You can use a the existing environment textures but you should experiment with your lighting settings in order to create a specific mood for your design concept.
